Hire Controller Training exceeds expectations

This month saw the first of the SPOA’s bespoke training courses delivered by Intelligent Dialogue.

Hire Controller training was a one-day course designed to help hire controllers win business and understand the commercial realities of the decisions they make. In a post course evaluation, the training achieved an average score of more than eight out of 10 across all criteria with all delegates likely to recommend to others.

Speaking about the course, Diane Banister, Managing Director of Intelligent Dialogue, said: “It was a great session which brought together SPOA members of varying experience and from all over Scotland. I think everyone on the course appreciated the fact that they are all facing the same challenges and discussing as a group how to overcome them.”

One of the delegates, Tasha Watson, a Hire Co-ordinator at Gordon Bow Plant Hire Ltd, added: “I have already recommended this course to my colleagues because I think it will really help them to improve core skills. Personally, I enjoyed the fact that the course made me think and question how I handle things and how I can improve. Diane was one of the best trainers I have experienced. She was really knowledgeable and approachable.”

Diane and her team at Intelligent Dialogue are now gearing up for Hire Achievers - Growing your success in Plant Hire, due to take place on 7th November. This two-day development programme is designed for senior leaders in the industry and will include:
