European Rental Association Convention 2023

Earlier this month, President Callum Mackintosh attended the European Rental Association Convention, held in Maastricht in the Netherlands.

The ERA Convention is the leading event for the European equipment rental industry and brings together more than 300 leading voices from the industry to network, learn and share. This year’s event – ‘Investing in People’ – addressed the challenges encountered by the equipment rental industry in attracting people.

There were four events running concurrently - European Rental Expo, European Rental Association Convention, Access Platform Exhibition and the European Rental Awards.

Speaking about the ERA Convention, Callum said: “It was great to meet with my peers from Scotland and abroad. I enjoyed great discussions with the Norwegian and Swedish rental associations.

“The session given by Emma Porter from Story Contracting around diversity and inclusion was a real highlight, as was the inspiring and engaging presentation from Nicklas Pyrdol about attracting and retaining talent.

“Of course, it was also a pleasure to meet up with suppliers and SPOA supplier members like Rouse, JCB, Spartan Solutions, Hitachi, and MHM. 

“My thanks go to the ERA team for putting on an excellent convention and offering superb hospitality to the entire European plant hire community.”
